SEXING:

Most birds can be sexed using the below described criteria from Svensson (2023). However, a few birds may be more difficult and should then be left unsexed.

2cy male April. Lateral throat-stripe and breast-band unstreaked greyish-olive. Crown unstreaked (or with fine shaft streaks). [1EV97880]

3cy+ female May. Crown greyish-olive, often with a slight brownish tinge, distinctly dark streaked. Breast lacking olive band, and shows (varying) dark streaking. Lateral throat-stripes rather dark. [1EZ23066]
