Young sp: The post-juv moult includes body, some or all LC and MC, and 0-4 GC (usually 1-3). Note that unlike other small passerines, waxwings have 11 GC.
Adult SC: The post-br moult usually includes the whole plumage, but single SS are sometimes retained as a result of an arrested moult. At Ottenby (Nov 2023) 17% of the adult birds (n=30) retained 2-3 unmoulted SS.
