Young sp: The post-juvenile moult includes the body, LC, MC and inner GC (81% of the birds at Ottenby included 4-7 GC, but range include 0-10, albeit the extremes are rare). The majority does not include alula or TT, but according to Jenni & Winkler (1994) 16% moult one alula, 28% moult one T, 11% two TT and 1% three TT. No, single or several RR may be included.
Young wp: According to litterature, there is a limited pre-breeding moult restricted to parts of body only.
Adult SC: The post-breeding moult is complete and includes the whole plumage.
Adult wp: According to litterature, there is a limited pre-breeding moult restricted to parts of body only.
Number of GC included in the post-juvenile moult shown as percentage of 1cy birds at Ottenby 2000-2014 (n=3895).
SEX:
No plumage differences.
